Flexa UK Ltd has been working with Channel 4 for over a year now supplying our products for their 60 Minute Makeover programmes where they needed children’s beds or bedroom furniture. Different designers working on the show have selected a good many Flexa products because, as you know, they are all well designed and made to last.

The latest programme to be shown was on 13 October and was filmed in the Chelmsford area. One of the rooms to receive the 60 Minute Makeover magic was Kian’s bedroom. Being 5 Kian has a thing about making dens according to mum, Emma. Flexa supplied a bed tunnel for this very purpose and this was one of the items featured by the designer. He liked the fact that it was flexible washable and fitted in well with the design.

Kian loved his new room and in particular the bed tunnel. He has always had trouble sleeping and feeling cocooned in the tunnel has helped him feel safe and secure Emma told us. Of course we know this because the programme was filmed some months ago and since the family live close to our store in Chelmsford we invited them to The Meadows so we could meet the whole family.

They have been enjoying their 15 minutes of fame and will no doubt be recognised around Chelmsford for a few weeks now that the programme has been shown. Every show gets over 1 million viewers, so there will be no hiding.

Flexa has supplied bunk beds, loft beds, a high sleeper and a chest of drawers form our new range of furniture for a show due to be screened early in 2011. Keep a look out on this blog and we’ll let you know when we’re going to be on again.

We hope you’re feeling well-rested as we all need sleep to keep us happy, healthy and at our best. If you’re a parent, you’ll know just how important it is to make sure your children have a good night’s sleep.

Sleep allows our mind and bodies to rest and recuperate. For children, a prolonged lack of sleep can affect the immune system, growth, feelings and moods and lead to a low attention span so it’s essential that we routinely put our children to sleep at a sensible time and make sure they are as comfortable as possible.

Choosing your child’s first bed (Bedroom Furniture) can seem daunting with so many on the market, so what should you be looking for?
